Boarding the train 09200 Ujjain Express Special from Bhopal Junction at 6:25 AM, we arrived in Ujjain by 11:20 AM, ready to begin my pilgrimage. The highlight of my journey awaited me: the revered Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva.

At 11:20 AM, The train pulled into Ujjain, and stepping onto the platform, I was greeted warmly by my friend Chaithanya, a fellow seeker on this spiritual quest. Together, we made our way to Hotel Apple Grand, our chosen sanctuary for the duration of our stay. Nestled on the 2nd floor, room 202, the hotel exuded a sense of tranquility and serenity, setting the perfect tone for our pilgrimage.

12:00 PM: With a sense of reverence, we embarked on our journey to the Ujjain Mahakaleshwar temple, the crown jewel of Ujjain’s spiritual heritage. Located on the banks of the Shipra River, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. Opting for a special Darshan, priced at Rs 250, we joined the throngs of devotees eager to seek the blessings of the divine.

As I stepped into the temple complex, I was immediately struck by its majestic architecture and profound spiritual ambiance. The temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, holds immense significance in Hindu mythology, believed to be the divine abode of Lord Shiva in his Mahakal form.

03:30 PM: After a brief rest at our hotel, we set out once again, this time to explore the sacred sites that dotted the landscape of Ujjain. Our first stop was the Harsiddhi Matha Temple, dedicated to the goddess Harsiddhi and believed to fulfill the wishes of devotees. From there, we made our way to the Gadkalika Mata Temple, an ancient shrine dedicated to the goddess Kalika.

05:00 PM: As the sun began to set, we made our way to Ram Ghat, a sacred bathing ghat on the banks of the Shipra River. Here, amidst the serene surroundings, we immersed ourselves in the spiritual energy of the place, offering prayers to the setting sun.

06:30 PM: Our next stop was the Kal Bhairav Temple, dedicated to the fearsome form of Lord Shiva known as Bhairav. The temple is believed to be a protector of the city and is adorned with colorful flags and banners, adding to its mystical allure.

And then we travelled to Harsiddhi Matha Temple, dedicated to the goddess Harsiddhi, to the Gadkalika Mata Temple, believed to be the site where Goddess Kalika’s upper lip fell during the battle with demons, every temple resonated with divine energy and spiritual vibrancy.

08:00 PM: By nightfall, we found ourselves at Sandeepani Ashram, a revered pilgrimage site associated with the sage Sandeepani, who is believed to have taught Lord Krishna and Sudama here. The ashram is a serene oasis of tranquility, surrounded by lush greenery and echoing with the chants of devotees.

09:30 PM: Returning to our hotel, we indulged in the flavors of local delicacies and North Indian cuisine, savoring each bite as a testament to the rich culinary heritage of Ujjain.

10:00 PM: Eager to experience the magic of the Ujjain Mahakaleshwar temple at night, we ventured out once again, arriving just in time for the evening Harathi. The temple corridor closed at 10:00 PM, but through a stroke of luck, we were granted entry for a free Darshan at 10:20 PM, allowing us to bask in the celestial glow of the temple’s sanctity.

Boarding a cab from Ujjain at 7:00 AM, We embarked on a scenic 140-kilometer journey to Omkareshwar, nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Madhya Pradesh. Arriving at the temple town by 12:00 PM, We was immediately struck by the aura of divinity that permeated the air.

The Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, perched on the banks of the sacred Narmada River, is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, revered as manifestations of Lord Shiva. Stepping into the temple complex, We was greeted by the sight of towering spires and intricate carvings, each telling a story of devotion and faith.

As we made my way through the temple corridors, We couldn’t help but marvel at the rich history and spiritual significance of this revered site. Legend has it that the temple was built by Mandhata, the king of the Ikshvakus, as a tribute to Lord Shiva.
